The drum and the two wall elements of the bobbin each formed from a plurality of composite segments, allows the bobbin disassembled in particular for the empty transport and at the place of manufacture of the longitudinal elements simply assembled again and prepared for the next load. In this way, the expenses and the costs can be adapted or optimized to the transport conditions. One or more supports are assigned at the junctions of the segments in each case in which the segments by means of fasteners can be releasably attached to each other and are also mutually positionally positioned, whereby the assembly can be done quickly and efficiently to an operational bobbin. Such inventive bobbins are particularly suitable for winding steel cables, electrical cables, hemp ropes or the like, in which the outer diameter of the wall elements amount to several meters. Conveniently, the drum and the wall elements are each divided into four to eight segments, which are dimensioned such that they are adapted to the dimensions of a standardized freight container, wherein segments of a plurality of bobbins in a freight container can be loaded. The invention and further advantages thereof are explained in more detail by means of embodiments with reference to the drawings.
